Local Sound for a New Musicality
Enhancing Musical Participation Through a Local Sonic Practice

LoMus is a research project funded by the European Commission through the Marie Skłodowska Curie Action Post-Doctoral Fellowship programme. LoMus aims at developing a method for broadening musical participation of amateurs and non-trained individuals through a special combination of sounding objects and contemporary music techniques.

The research focuses on the sounding objects from Calabria to elaborate a method that can be applied to every sonic community.

Dr Christian Ferlaino is LoMus’ Principal Investigator in the Department of Humanities (DISU) at Università della Calabria in partnership with the Reid School of Music at the University of Edinburgh.
